  • 2. Globally Recognized Yoga Certification : The USA-based Yoga Alliance has certified the program. As a result, the yoga certification course has worldwide recognition. That means you gain the eligibility to work as a yoga teacher anywhere in the world.
  • 3. Eligibility for Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) : You qualify to register as RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance (USA) after completing the course.
  • 4. Expert and Experienced Instructors : You will have the opportunity to learn authentic yoga under the guidance of dedicated, expert, and experienced instructors. They studied and practiced yoga under Himalayan sages. In addition, they implement innovative teaching methodologies to impart knowledge to students.
  • 5. In-Depth Learning : You will learn yoga subjects exhaustively. Some of the topics in the program are yoga philosophy, ashtanga & vinyasa, hatha yoga, pranayam, mudra & bandha, meditation, shatkarma, anatomy, alignment and adjustment, and mantras.

Guide to Traveling to India

Apply online for an e-Visa. Print your visa and carry it with your passport.

Good connectivity makes reaching Rishikesh hassle-free. You can come to the town by air, road, or rail. The nearest airport, railway terminal, and bus stand are Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun), Rishikesh train station, and Rishikesh bus terminal.

If you land at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, take a domestic flight to Dehradun Airport. Other options include booking a cab, catching a bus, or taking a train to Rishikesh. After arriving, you can book a taxi or an auto rickshaw to reach the ashram premises.

We also offer comfortable, reliable, and safe taxi services for pickup and drop-off. The coverage includes pickup from:

  • New Delhi Airport
  • Dehradun Airport
  • Rail/Bus stations of Rishikesh and Haridwar
  • Nepali Farm

Cab fares are as follows:

  • Delhi Airport: ₹6000 / $70 (if two share: ₹4000/ $47 each)
  • Dehradun Airport: ₹2000 / $23 (if two share: ₹1500 / $18 each)
  • Within Rishikesh: ₹1500 / $18 (if two share: ₹1000 / $12 each)

Again, we provide a complimentary shuttle service to pick up students from Dehradun Airport on the arrival day. The shuttle departs at 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

The weather in Rishikesh changes from pleasant to moderately intense during the year.

March through June are the summer months, with temperatures ranging between 25 and 38 degrees centigrade. For students coming to our ashram in the summer, it is advisable to bring light clothing.

July to September is the monsoon season with frequent rain showers. And, the water level of the sacred Ganges rises. As such, rafting does not take place. And, adventure activities come to a halt.

October to February are the pleasant months. And, the weather turns perfect for local sightseeing, rafting, and adventure activities.

December through February are the winter months with temperatures dropping to 6-8 degrees centigrade. And, we recommend students bring warm clothes when coming to our yoga ashram during these months.

Local shops for daily needs, yoga gear, and snacks, apart from pharmacies, are within walking distance.

Currency exchange facilities are available in Rishikesh. In addition, there are ATMs of reputed banks nearby.

Electrical plugs of the C, D, and M types find uses in India. And, the voltage is 230V. So, carrying a universal adapter is advisable.

Local SIM cards are available at the airport and shops in Rishikesh. You can subscribe to such a card by verifying your identity through your passport. We provide SIM cards at the ashram as well. Let us know if you need one.

Yes, you can. The course is open for beginners. However, being physically and mentally fit is good.

Yes, you become a certified yoga teacher after course completion. And, you become eligible to teach yoga worldwide as the Yoga Alliance (USA) recognizes the course. Moreover, you can register for RYT 500.

No, there are no age restrictions. You can be of any age to join the program.

Yes, the 500-hour program is suitable for all student categories, beginners to advanced practitioners.

We suggest completing the 200-hour YTTC first if you’re a beginner. After understanding the concepts, go for the 300-hour YTTC.

At Rishikesh Yoga Ashram, we offer the course in two timelines: 45 and 55 days. So, students can choose one according to their convenience and preferences.

There will be small batches of 15 to 20 students. The idea is to allow instructors to give individual attention to students.
